But all work and no play is not much fun. Occasionally, it’s important to get away from the textbooks, put the study sessions on “hold”, and head out into the fun and sun to experience some of the many exciting opportunities available in Hawaii that can’t be found anywhere else.

Honolulu International Students – In and Around Waikiki

One of the best things about Oahu is that the island is not very big. So getting to places like the beaches along the North Shore or some of the more isolated mountain areas for some peace and quiet is fast and convenient. But you generally will need a car — or at least a ride — to reach them.

Fortunately, for students “stuck” in Honolulu — Hawaii’s biggest city — there are still plenty of things to do and see to get your mind off of your studies, at least temporarily.

The beach at Waikiki is one of the most famous in the world, and for good reason. Not only does it provide stunning views of Diamond Head and the Pacific Ocean, but it’s also the best place to find some of the islands’ most beautiful people.

Honolulu International Students — Exploring Hawaii

If you are looking for a more ambitious study break, fun and adventure on some of Hawaii’s other islands is just a short plane ride (or boat trip) away.

Spend an afternoon hiking the colorful mountain trails on Kaui or marvel at the natural wonder of the active volcanoes on the big island.

Every Hawaiian island has beaches to enjoy, as well as underwater adventures scuba diving and snorkeling. Go with a professional guide or head out on your own to see some of the most wonderful sights to be found anywhere on Earth.
